Must Grow Flowers! Big Beauty, Little Trouble

I can’t believe I already have daffodils blooming, snapdragons sprouting in the house, and sunflowers plots being planned! I get asked about flower types a LOT when I show them on my IG. My flower gardening style: Start small, simple, and figure out what packs the MOST beauty, for the LEAST trouble haha!

1. Madame Butterfly Snapdragons

RUN and buy a packet of these seeds, now. I didn’t put a filter on this photo because I wanted you to see the accurate/real life color of these flowers! THEY ARE STUNNING! Gorgeous ruffly double petals with coveted apricot color, long-lasting plus a heavenly perfume?!! What more could you ask for in a cutting garden flower? If you are a first time flower gardener, these are no fail, and the rewards are HUGE! This is a tried and true staple for your flower garden! Again, start small, with a tiny plot! See how they work in your garden space, and then add more the next year! You’ll need to start these seeds asap.

2. White Lite Sunflowers

I get sooooo many DM’s whenever I post these stunning sunflowers!

The White Lite Sunflower is an absolute show stopper and super easy to grow! Creamy yellow petals and a gorgeous golden center, this blonde beauty is a bombshell. You’re going to be obsessed!

Just pick a sunny spot with 6 to 8 hours of direct sun, pop the seeds in the semi-fertile ground, give them some water and watch them grow! I sow several batches 2-3 weeks apart to keep sunflowers coming right up to the first frost! They grow 6-7′ tall and are gorgeous in bouquets!

3. Winston Churchill Daffodils

Delightfully fragrant, large creamy-white flowers with flecks of orange in the middle, this daffodil is a treasure for your garden! And the best part?! IT COMES BACK EVERY YEAR! It’s a double daffodil—so big, fluffy and smells soooo good!

Remember when I told you I like to start easy and high impact? This flower is IT. This is a great flower to add some early cheer to your garden every year! So simple to plant and grow-we just dug a trench, threw in a ton of bulbs, covered with soil and compost and watched the magic pop up in March!

4. Oklahoma Zinnias

Oklahoma Zinnias are a CUT and COME AGAIN flower! Meaning the more you cut the more they bloom! The perfect reliable bloomer for all those bouquets you have been dreaming about cutting straight from your little flower garden to your kitchen vase! You’ll never be without blooms all summer long, and most importantly it’s really hard to mess up zinnias lol! This is a great flower to “cut your teeth on” as a rookie! The Oklahoma Zinnia was bred specifically for cut flower gardens, and the Salmon color is my personal favorite!
